OccuAid’s medical surveillance is risk-based
Our expertise in occupational health services helps our clients by allowing them to place employees in the correct working environment, thereby decreasing risk and improving productivity.
We base our our medical surveillance on the following risk criteria:
Physical
Chemical
Biological
Ergonomical
Psycho-social
These examinations include an occupational history of the employee, a general medical questionnaire, specialised questionnaires specific to the job, and physical examinations and tests relevant to the exposures the employee may experience at work – such as noise, dust, radiation, vapours, fumes, vibrations, heat, cold, heights, and others.
OccuAid consists of a highly qualified experienced team of occupational health and medical practitioners using hi-tech equipment.
We offer our services on our premises or on-site according to our clients needs with a certificate of fitness available on completion of the examination.
Our occupational health services comply with the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act no. 85 of 1993.
We keep current and up to date on all legislation and changes in the industry. This helps to keep our clients compliant and enhances their health and safety programs and audits.
Occuaid offers medicals that are custom made for the risks or industry that individual clients are exposed to.
These medicals include the following:
- SAMSA medicals (Seafarers medical examination)

We offer an onsite service to industries. This helps to reduce loss of labor onsite while examinations are taking
place, therefore helping reduce the cost of lost time and labor.
We have a mobile clinic that we take onto site. We require a minimum of 20 people to go onsite, but this is negotiable.
The services we can provide from the mobile clinic are as follows:
- Full medical examinations including audiometry and lung function testing
- Blood Tests
- Immunizations
Travel Medicine & Immunization
Occuaid is registered with the Department of Health for administration of Yellow Fever vaccines
We have qualified staff in Travel medicine to assist with the travel medicine vaccinations.
